Ekumfi Esiam Youth Call For Enhanced Parental Support In Education.

The Yaa WAHAB Foundation of Ekumfi Esiam, located in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region, has initiated a campaign urging parents to actively support their children’s education while they are at home.

The foundation recently provided essential learning materials, including books and pens, to 15 schools across the district during the vacation period, demonstrating its commitment to academic advancement.

Kojo Baah, the chairman of the YAA— WAHAB Foundation, speaking in an interview with Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, he stressed the critical role parents play in their children’s academic journey.

He implored parents to continue fostering a supportive home environment that complements school-based learning, thereby enhancing their children’s knowledge acquisition and preparing them for a brighter future.

Baah further elaborated that the foundation’s philanthropic endeavors are multifaceted, extending beyond academic support to encompass assistance for the aged, individuals in need, orphans, and widows.

In addition to material support, the foundation actively encourages students to pursue their educational goals with seriousness.

Baah urged young learners to aspire to significant professional roles such as ministers, presidents, nurses, and Members of Parliament, underscoring the transformative power of education

The foundation members also addressed concerns regarding academic performance, with some members highlighting a noticeable drop in end-term promotions, particularly among male students but female students were in high levels than male.

They attributed this trend largely to a preference for leisure activities over dedicated study.

Consequently, the foundation reiterated the collective responsibility of teachers, parents, and guardians to reinforce the importance of learning and provide the necessary guidance to help children succeed academically.
