Assin North1,200 BECE Graduates Receive Educational Support From MP.

The Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, has supported 1,200 BECE graduates in the constituency with educational materials and financial assistance as they prepare to begin their Senior High School (SHS) education.
The support, presented on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, forms part of the MP’s Educational Support Programme, which seeks to ease the financial burden on families and help students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, transition smoothly into SHS.
The beneficiaries received 1,200 trunks and 1,200 student mattresses, while selected students, including orphans and persons with special needs, also received financial assistance to meet some of their educational expenses.
Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Quayson said his ultimate goal was to ensure that no deserving student in the constituency is prevented from pursuing education because of a lack of basic educational materials or financial support.
He urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, remain disciplined and avoid activities that could derail their ambitions.
He expressed hope that the intervention would help create a more conducive environment for the beneficiaries to begin their SHS education with confidence.
The District Chief Executive for Assin North, Hon. Sylvester Amakye Nyarkoh, also urged parents to support their children’s aspirations and refrain from making negative remarks that could undermine their confidence and ambitions.
Meanwhile, the caretaker chief of Assin Breku and Tufohene of Assin Breku, Nana Kotroka Frimpong Baah, thanked the MP on behalf of the beneficiaries.
He said the intervention would go a long way towards easing the financial burden on parents and supporting the students as they begin their SHS education.
