Deputy Minister For Health Tours Some Health Faclities In The WR To Ascrtain Their Preparedness On The Fight Against Mpox DiseaseI

The Western Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service in collaboration with the WHO has toured some health facilities with in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis to ascertain their preparedness against the spread of the MPOX virus.

Speaking to the Media after the tour the Deputy Health Minister Professor Dr Grace Ayensu Danquah said the virus that causes MPOX can spread to humans from animals or person to person.

She added that, MPOX is an illness caused by the monkey pox virus .

She therefore called on residents in the metropolis to fellow the measures putting by the Ghana Health Service to enable them not acquiring the virus.
