Sekondi-Takoradi MCE Vows To Ensure Proper Use Of Common Fund For Development

The Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Hon. Lawyer F.F. Faido, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that the District Assemblies Common Fund is used strictly for its intended purpose to drive development across the metropolis.

According to him, the government’s directive on the proper utilization of the Common Fund is clear, and the Assembly will not deviate from that vision.
He emphasized that every pesewa allocated to the Assembly will be used to improve the lives of residents through tangible and sustainable projects.

Hon. Faido explained that the Assembly’s core objective is to promote holistic development by providing quality educational infrastructure, access to potable water, improved healthcare delivery, and the continuation of projects initiated by previous administrations.

He made this statement during a sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of a three-unit kindergarten classroom block for the Sekondi Model School.
The project, he noted, forms part of the Assembly’s broader agenda to enhance educational facilities and create a conducive learning environment for children in the metropolis.

The MCE assured residents that his administration remains focused on implementing developmental projects that directly benefit communities, ensuring accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.

He again said Sekondi-Takoradi is choked and land is scarce in the metropolis, so there is a need to build high-rise buildings to accommodate more people.

He has therefore urged the Assembly to plan and develop buildings suitable for the future needs of the city.
