Two Persons Reportedly Swept Away By Floodwaters At Nurses Quarters Junction After Heavy Rains.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Seth Serwonoo Banini, has disclosed that reports reaching his office indicate that two persons may have been swept away by floodwaters at Nurses Quarters Junction in the Ga South Municipality.
According to the MCE, the information is yet to be officially confirmed. However report says the victims are one adult and one child.
The child was said being carried away by the fllod waters so in attempt by the adult to help was also swept off together with the child.
The Kasoa MCE made the disclosure while assisting the Ga South Municipal Assembly to facilitate the movement of commuters after floodwaters inundated sections of the main road, causing significant disruption to traffic and pedestrian movement.
The flooding followed heavy rains that affected several parts of the municipality, leaving roads submerged and making transportation difficult for residents and motorists.
Hon. Banini also urged the public to disregard media reports suggesting that the incident occurred in Kasoa.
He clarified that the reported incident took place within the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region and not in Kasoa, which falls under the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.
Meanwhile, The traditional leader Being Zongo chief for Kasoa Nurses Quarters Sariki Shaibu Ashaamah has suggested that the government construct drains from Odunkwa community to Nurses Quarters and that can solve the Perinial flooding in the area..
He used the opportunity to call on MP for Obom Domeabra, Isaac Yibor, Ga South MCE to come to their aid immediately.
