Chief Raises Alarm Over Insecurity In Community Over Alleged Land Guards Invasion.

The Chief of Kyekyewere in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, Okunini Kwame Gyebi Ababio, has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the community, following an alleged invasion by land guards and foreigners accused of engaging in criminal activities, terrorizing residents, and destroying farms and properties with impunity.
Speaking at a press conference on the disturbing developments, the Chief said Kyekyewere, once a peaceful and tranquil community, is gradually being overrun by alleged land guards and other individuals whose activities are creating fear and insecurity among residents.
According to him, the alleged land guards, who were reportedly brought into the area by some estate developers, have been encroaching on farmlands, destroying crops and properties, and subjecting residents to intimidation and threats.
The Chief also alleged that some police officers, whose duty is to protect residents, are involved in the activities.
He expressed concern that the continued presence and activities of these individuals could undermine the peace and stability of the community if urgent measures are not taken to address the situation.
The Chief is therefore appealing to the government, security agencies, and other relevant authorities to intervene swiftly to restore law and order and protect the lives and properties of residents.
He further called for a thorough investigation into the alleged activities of the land guards and foreigners in the area, insisting that no individual or group should be allowed to operate above the law.
The Chief warned that if nothing is done to address the situation and the alleged harassment and intimidation continue, residents may be left with no option but to defend themselves, as they believe the police have failed to provide adequate protection.
End.
