Afigya Kwabre South MCE Commissions 16-Unit Modern Classroom Block.

The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has commissioned a 16-unit, three-storey model classroom block to address educational infrastructure deficit in the district.

The St. Francis Assisi Model School block, commissioned at the Buoho R/C School premises, is the first ever model school in the area.

Speaking in an interview with our news reporter, Sofoba Kwame Afrifah, during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah said the edifice will help solve the school infrastructure challenges in her jurisdiction.

She noted that education remains a top priority of her administration and the government, and the new block will provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The DCE urged teachers, pupils and the community to maintain the facility to ensure it serves its intended purpose for many years.

Residents and school authorities expressed gratitude for the project, saying it will ease congestion and improve academic performance.

“This model school will help solve the infrastructure deficit we face in education in this district.”

The 16-unit classroom block is expected to accommodate hundreds of pupils from Buoho and surrounding communities.

Queenmother for Buoho, Nana Akosua Nyarko, on her part urged the DISEC for tight security against “*WEE*” smokers who distract teaching and learning during school hours and after closing with smoking.

She also cautioned those who treck from their homes to school’s classrooms to ease themselves (open defecation) to either eschew from doing that or face full rigors of the law when one is caught in the act.
