Dedesua Residents Demand Urgent Action Over Network Failure And Dangerous Roads Fueling Robbery.

Frustration is mounting in Dedesua in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region as residents and commercial drivers say poor mobile network coverage and deteriorating roads are fueling a rise in armed robbery and leaving the community cut off in emergencies.

For months, people in the area have struggled with intermittent or completely absent network signals from major telecom providers.

That gap, residents say, becomes dangerous when accidents, health emergencies, or attacks occur.

“When robbers strike, you can’t call the police or even your family.

Sometimes you have to run to the next town just to get one bar of signal,”_ a driver who plies the Dedesua route said. “It’s like we don’t exist.”

The situation is made worse by the state of the roads leading into and out of Dedesua.

Potholes, broken culverts, and long stretches of untarred road force vehicles to slow down or stop, creating easy targets for armed men who operate mostly in the evenings and early mornings.

Several drivers report multiple attacks in recent weeks, with passengers robbed of phones, cash, and valuables.

The combination of insecurity and bad infrastructure, they add, is discouraging economic activity and pushing people to leave the area.

Residents are now calling on the Bosomtwe District Assembly, the Ghana Highway Authority, and telecom operators to act quickly.
