Peace Restored As Central Regional House Of Chiefs Settles 38-Year Chieftaincy Dispute At Gomoa Wassa.

The Judicial Committee of Central Regional House of Chiefs has brought closure to a 38-year-long chieftaincy dispute between the Takyina and Asona families at Gomoa Wassa in the Gomoa West District.
The protracted dispute, which spanned nearly four decades, created persistent tension within the community and significantly hindered development in the area.
The ruling by the Judicial Committee of the House of Chiefs is expected to restore peace and unity among the feuding families and pave the way for accelerated development in Gomoa Wassa.
In an interview with Angel news after the verdict, counsel for the Takyina Royal Family Lawyer Alexander Kwadwo Kom Abban, stated that the judgment affirms the Takyina family as the rightful royal lineage of Gomoa Wassa.
According to him, the entire community supports the Takyina family, adding that the decision by the Judicial Committee of the House of Chiefs is a step in the right direction.
Meanwhile, the residents have expressed relief over the decision and remain hopeful that the resolution will usher in progress and stability in the community.
They have expressed their appreciation to the Judicial Committee for successfully resolving the long-standing dispute.
They noted that with the matter now settled, they are optimistic that Gomoa Wassa will experience meaningful development.
