CPP Marks Independence Day With ‘Rebirth Agenda’ At Nkrumah’s Birthplace

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is seeking to rejuvenate its base and reclaim relevance in Ghana’s political landscape.

Once the dominant political force that led Ghana to independence under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah, the party has in recent decades lost much of its influence.

However, the current leadership says it is embarking on a reorganization agenda aimed at reviving the ideals of the party’s founder and reconnecting with grassroots supporters across the country.

As Ghana commemorated its 69th Independence Day, party executives and supporters gathered at Nkroful in the Western Region the birthplace of Nkrumah to symbolically launch what they describe as a “rebirth” of the party.

The gathering was intended to reconnect with the historical roots of the party, with leaders expressing hope that a new generation inspired by Nkrumah’s vision could emerge from the same soil.

As part of the commemoration, party members replicated the symbolic planting of a palm tree, an act linked to the founding of the CPP in 1949.

They say the gesture represents renewed growth and the rebirth of the party.

National Communications Officer of the CPP, Osei Kofi Acquah, elaborated on the party’s renewed vision and reorganization agenda.

The wwstern regional chairman of the Party Nana Miraku Tumi on his part said the planting of the palm tree is a symbly of the cpp rebirth and belief as they water the palm tree to grow, so will cpp grow and take back the country for better possition.
