DEPUTY HEALTH MINISTER URGES FIRST-YEAR SHS STUDENTS TO RESPECT THEIR TEACHERS.
The Deputy Health Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, *Hon. Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah*, has called on the newly admitted first-year Senior High School students, both day and boarding students within her constituency, to show respect to their Senior High School teachers.
Speaking to our Western Regional Reporter, Benjamin Bray – “Great Pablo”, the Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Hon. Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, stressed the importance of Senior High School students extending the same respect to their parents.
She also advised that girls, in particular, should stay away from boys and focus on their education to develop into better members of society.
According to the Deputy Minister of Health, as the students progress, her support will continue, as it did for the previous year’s cohort who went to SHS.
Hon. Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah mentioned this when she provided the First-Year Senior High Boarding students with educational supplies, including free mattresses, exercise books, trunks, rubber buckets, and sanitary pads for the female students, through *”Obaatanpa Educational Support”*.
Meanwhile, Hon. Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah pointed out that this isn’t the first time her office has supported the students; it is actually the third year running, during which each year they motivate the students to attend school, learn, and succeed, so they can return to the constituency and assist others.
She added that in advancing infrastructure development, human development must also be a key focus.
The first-year Senior High School students, expressing their mixed feelings, thanked the Deputy Health Minister for the generous donation she gave them, indicating that the support will assist them now that they have been admitted into various senior high schools across the country.
Furthermore, the first-year Senior High School students explicitly stated that some of them could not have afforded to buy the items if not for the intervention of Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, who came to their rescue.
They promised to make good use of the educational support provided and vowed to focus on their studies to excel in their exams, aiming to make the Essikado-Ketan Member of Parliament proud.
Notwitstanding, the parents also appreciated the efforts of the Member of Parliament Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah for lessening their financial burden by providing these educational support items to their children.
